Ángeles Sagastizabal (Argentina) Ph.D. Anthropologist specializing in political sociology and a historian. Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), working at the Rosario Education Science Research Institute (IRICE) of which she is vice-principal. Her research focuses on failure at school at the primary level in deprived urban areas and in ethnic schools, and how it relates to the cultural distance between school and pupil. Her most recent work isDiversidad cultural y fracaso escolar: la educación intercultural de la teoria a la práctica [Cultural diversity and school failure: from theory to practice of intercultural education] (2000).
