Fernando Reimers (Venezuela) Associate Professor of Education and Director of the Master's Programme on International Education Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Currently researching the relationship between education, poverty and inequality in Latin America. He has worked as an education policy advisor to governments and international agencies in most countries in Latin America, as well as in Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan. His latest books (with Noel McGinn) areInformed dialogue: using research to shape education policy around the world (1997) andUnequal schools, unequal chances (forthcoming). He has just finished editing a book on education, poverty and inequality in the American that will be published in 2000.
