Use of virus, bacteria and hormones as alternatives to the chemical plant protection in forest

Summary

In this paper possibilities of using virus, bacteria and hormones to control forest insects are described. Some results, known from literature and obtained by own experiments are discussed from a critical point of view. The costs of these methods are calculated and compared with the costs for the use of a chemical insecticide serving the same purpose.
