Theoretical models for the calculation of the reaction π + d → p + p in the resonance region

We discuss the currently accepted model used to describe the reaction π + d → p + p. We show that this model is inconsistent with unitarity constraints and with our general understanding of pion-deuteron interactions. An alternate calculational procedure is proposed.

Si discute il modello correntemente accettato per descrivere la reazione π + d → p + p. Si mostra che questo modello non è consistente con i vincoli di unitarietà e con la nostra generale comprensione delle interazioni pione-deuterone. Si propone un procedimento di calcolo alternativo.
