On the non-statistical component of the fission γ-ray spectrum of252Cf

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

The so-called non-statistical γ-radiation emitted in the asymmetric fission of252Cf can be interpreted as echoing the repercussions, in the doubly magic core132Sn, of the cataclysmic transfer of all, or almost all, of its 76 valence nucleons in rearrangement reactions of the diclusteric molecules involved in the process of asymmetric fission.
