Summary

Within the framework of the narrow-width approximation for resonances and under rather general assumptions fors- andt-channel Regge trajectories (linearitynot included), the Veneziano rormula and the supplementary condition are shown to follow uniquely from the requirement that FESR’s with momentsm=0, 1 and 2 reproduce as many Regge zeros as possible, with continuity from positivet to some negative valuet c depending on the cut-off.
