Summary
Gold was exposed to 12.2, 14, 18 and 23 GeV protons. The values of the cross-sections for production of binary and ternary events were determined using a polycarbonate (macrofol) as the detector of fragments. The results obtained show that these events are produced not only in the process of fission but also in the processes of fragmentation and spallation.
