Summary
The two-wave hypothesis (TWH) of massive particles presented earlier is shown to follow from an extension of de Broglie’s theory of matter waves. The properties of the frequency, wavelength, phase velocity and group velocity of each of these two waves are then found under a Lorentz transformation. To this end, the wave equation for a spinless free particle is proposed and it is argued from some specific examples that the linearity or nonlinearity of the wave equation seems to depend on the form of the amplitude term characterized by the dual wave (D-wave).
