Thresholds of purely growing instabilities in the presence of an intense lower-hybrid pump wave

Summary

It is found that a wave near the lower-hybrid frequency may parametrically excite purely growing instabilities. Modulations by ion cyclotron and collisional modes are considered. The instability thresholds and the widths of the excited spectra are presented.
