Low-amplitude internal-friction phenomena inGe

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

Ge specimens having prevalence of screw dislocations introduced at 600 °C and at 350 °C show two specificQ −1 peaks. These peaks are interpreted as an intrinsic screw dislocation effect: the corresponding activation energies are nearly one-half those for kink pair generation. Screw dislocations have no effect on the low-temperature Mecs peak, which is present also in nondeformed specimens.
