The production of the eta meson in pion-nucleon collisions is studied by dispersion-theoretic techniques. Differential and total cross-sections for various ranges of energy and angles are tabulated and compared with the experimental results.

The quantum numbers of η areC,T(JPG)=+, 0(0]t-+) with a mass of 548.7 MeV. It is not a resonance in the usual sense, but rather a «stable» particle with respect to strong interactions just like π0 and Σ0.A. H. Rosenfeld, A. Barbaro-Galtieri, W. H. Barkas, P. L. Bastien, J.
