Comments on the resulting equilibrium state of a system with adiabatic internal constraints

Summary

The extremum principle for the entropy of a compound system is investigated. It is shown that the extremum principle may or may not be satisfied for subsystems separated by an adiabatic wall. The question of the need for a new condition for equilibrium is raised.

Исследуется зкстремальный принцип для знтропии составной системы. Покаэывается, что зкстремальный принцип может удовлетворяться, а может и не удовлетворяться для систем, раэделенных адиабатической стенкой. Поднимается вопрос о необходимости нового условия для равновесия.

Si studia il principio estremale per l’entropia di un sistema composto. Si dimostra che il principio estremale può essere o non essere soddisfatto per sottosistemi separati da una parete adiabatica. Si pone il problema della necessità di una nuova condizione per l’equilibrio.
