Summary

Silica cement of sandy deposits is formed both in acid and alkaline environment. Investigations show that pH of silica bearing solutions plays a significant role in developing the water resistant fabric of silica gel. The paper also presents the results of laboratory investigations to clear up the nature and direction of the metamorphism of acid and alkaline silica containing solutions when these interact with various rock-forming minerals and to determine the role of surface films in the process of silica cement formation.

  1. 1)

    de mieux connaitre les processus métamorphiques engendrés par l’action de solutions siliceuses acides et alcalines sur divers minéraux des roches;

  2. 2)
