Die Holz- und Papierwirtschaft Mexikos

Zusammenfassung

Mexiko wird durch folgende Daten gekennzeichnet: Fläche 1967 183 km², Bevölkerung 66,8 Mill. (1977), im Jahre 2000 bei einer Zuwachsrate von 3.6% über 130 Mill. Wald: 30–34% der Bodenfläche, davon 17% (33,5 Mill. ha) nutzbar, Zuwachs 43 Mill. m³, davon verwertbar max. 16 Mill. m³, Einschlag 1976: 14,8 Mill. m³, davon 8,17 Mill. m³ an Brennholz und 6,61 Mill. m³ Industrieholz (81,2% Kiefernholz). In Tabellen und Bildern werden angegeben: Gesamt produktion an Holzprodukten, Zellstoff und Papier, Anteil der verschiedenen Bundesstaaten und neue Projekte der Papierindustrie. Probleme der Forst- und Holzwirtschaft sind die übermäßige industrielle Konzentration im Gebiet der Hauptstadt, die Entwaldung und die Wiederaufforstung. Schließlich wird das neue Institut für Holz.-Zellstoff- und Papierforschung in Guadalajara beschrieben.

Abstract

The characteristics of Mexico are as follows: area 1967 183 km², population 66.8 millions in 1977, 130 millions in the year 2000 at a growth rate of 3.6%. About 30 to 34% of the land is covered by forests, of which 17% (33,5 mill. ha) may be utilized: the growth rate is 43 mill. m³, of which 16 mill. m³ are exploitable at maximum, the volume felled in 1976 was 14,8 mill. m³ of which 8,17 mill. m³ were used as fuel wood and 6,61 mill. m³ as industrial wood (81,2% pine wood). The total production of wood products, pulp and paper, the share of the various Federal States, and new projects of the paper industry are illustrated in figures and tables. The problems of forestry and wood industry consist in the very high concentration of industrial plants in the surroundings of the Capital, in deforestation, and afforestation. In conclusion, the new Institute for Wood, Pulp and Paper Research at Guadalajara is described.
