Produktionstechniken, Rohstoffe und Verbraucher nehmen Einfluß auf den Markt und verändern ihn langsam aber dennoch spürbar. Dies gilt natürlich auch für den Holzwerkstoff-Markt. Es werden die wichtigsten Plattenprodukte wie Spanplatten, Dünnspanplatten, MDF sowie einige Beschichtungsmaterialien in ihrer jüngsten Entwicklung beschrieben und ihre Position auf dem EG-Markt erörtert. Im Zusammenhang damit wird ebenso auf die dementsprechenden Fabrikationseinrichtungen und auf wichtige Verfahrensvarianten eingegangen.

Production engineering, raw materials and consumers all tend to influence the market and effect slow but noticeable changes. This is also true for the wood based materials market. This paper describes the latest development and position within the European market of the most important products such as particleboard, thin particleboard, medium density fibre board, as well as of some coating materials. In this context the respective production machinery and important processing varia are discussed.
