In den Mikrofibrillen derValonia-Cellulose werden durch Ultraschallbehandlung Mikrostauchlinien erzeugt, die den Aufbau dieser Bauelemente aus feineren Elementarfibrillen klar erkennen lassen (Bild 1).

Cellulose microfibrils from the secondary cell wall of the alga Valonia, treated with ultrasonics, present ultrastructural slip-planes which disclose elementary fibrils (Fig. 1).
