Abstract

This paper reviews the principles and practice of circular and band saw tensioning. It explains the function of saw tensioning and describes ways in which the process can be effectively used to improve and maintain saw performance. A technical literature review is given covering the established tensioning methods and also some promising new techniques which are currently being developed.
