Summary
In the respective literature the ratio of fatigue strength to short time strength is quoted with 50 to 70 percent. According to the test results obtained this ratio is mainly influenced by the wood moisture content and varies between 46 percent (wood moisture content 30 percent, at least) and 90 percent (oven-dry wood). In the statements made until now on the fatigue strength this fact has not been satisfactorily taken into consideration.
