Zusammenfassung

Es wird über eine verbesserte Methode zur Bestimmung des Harnstoff-Formaldehyd-Bindemittelgehalts in Spanplatten berichtet. Peroxyd, das beim Aufschluß nicht restlos zerstört wird, wurde in bestimmten Fällen als Ursache von Analysenungenauigkeiten erkannt. Bei der geånderten Arbeitsweise wird ein etwa verbleibender Rest an Peroxyd durch Oxalsäure zersetzt und dadurch eine bisher mögliche Fehlerquelle ausgeschaltet. Eine neue Arbeitsvorschrift, die sich auch für die Betriebspraxis eignet, enthält ein einfaches Berechnungsbeispiel, um auch angelernten Arbeitskräften die Analyse zu erleichtern.

Summary

It is being reported on an improved method for the determination of the content of urea-formaldehyde adhesives in particleboard. Peroxide, which is not completely decomposed during the analysis, in certain cases was recognized as cause for the inaccuracy. With the changed method of operation, a possibly remaining residue of peroxide is decomposed by oxalic acid and thus a so far possible source of error eliminated. A new working instruction contains a simple computation example in order to facilitate the analysis also for trained workers.
