Summary

Illustrations are given of the content of a series of engineering geological maps prepared for two contrasted regions in Hungary. It is suggested that all the aspects of ground conditions discussed should be included in engineering geological maps for general use. For specific engineering sites or applications, map content should be related to engineering requirements.
