Abstract

For all kinds of surface constructions a specification for the building material to be used is required. However, when building underground, the material is the rock itself and one has to make do with what nature provides in the way of rock, soil and ground water. Therefore, the geologist and hydrogeologist carry the primary responsibility with their judgements and viewpoints.
