Summary

In a coastal region of high seismicity a giant block-type slope deformation is being propagated in sliding cycles due to the action of creep in a bed of clay, deep under a brittle rock platform.

La déformation géante de pente en blocs se propage en cycles de glissements par une action de fluage au fond du plateau rocheux dans une rayon sismique.

In memoriamProfessor Bojan Kamenov (Nov. 22, 1979), who discussed first the deformation at Taukliman (Kamenov et al. 1969, 1977) and promoted the joint research of Czechoslovak and Bulgarian Academies of Sciences in this field (Kamenov, Pašek et al. 1973), so that the first proof of the present activity of the deformation could be given (Košťák, Avramova-Tačeva 1977).
