Résumé

Pour le projet d'une grande usine souterraine on a exécuté une étude mésotectonique et géomécanique qui a permis la réalisation d'un modèle structural du rocher à excaver et les prévisions à propos des coins rocheux qui auraient été mis en évidence par l'excavation.

La phase d'exécution a montré la crédibilité du modèle de prévision, en garantissant une rapide exécution des ouvrages. Les resultats de l'étude se sont révélés essentiels aussi pour la mise en oeuvre des ouvrages de stabilisation constituées par des ancrages de 50–80 t et longs de 15 à 20 m.

Summary

A geomechanics study was established for a great underground power plant (dimensions of the main cavity: 34 m high; 20 m large and 96 m long; power house cavity 65 m high) in the phyllites at the base of the Southern Alps.

Through statistical surveys of the discontinuities and in situ and laboratory tests, a structural model has been performed and, from the latter, the planning of excavation and supports of the rock walls has been established.

The controls made during excavation of the cavities showed the reliability of the structural model and the flexibility of the support method chosen.
