Summary
On the Russian platform the landslides in almost horizontal beds, associated with the squeezing out or squashing of clay layers, start to originate on the slopes that are the higher, the older these clays are. The origin of superficial landslides is frequently the result of deep landslides. The influence of climate on the distribution of landslides is less expressed than the influence of geological conditions.
