Abstract

In 1986, Yih found a solitary group of deep-water waves caused by a travelling and oscillatory concentrated force. In this paper, such a single group caused by a travelling and oscillatory force-couple is presented. The expression of wave elevation is also derived and an intuitive explanation of the results is provided.
