Summary

Agroclimatic characterization is an indispensable tool to extrapolate research findings to the farming community. These characterizations should be based on the atmospheric water balance, soil physical parameters and landscape position, so that the directly available soil water content in the root zone can be more accurately determined at any given point in time.
