Summary

The optimum conditions for thin-layer chromatography of anthraquinones such as chrysophanol, physcion, emodin, aloe emodin and rhein inRheum franzenbachii Münt (rhubarb) have been studied. The extraction of these anthraquinones has been improved by ultrasonic shaking with mixed solvents.
