Abstract
The cyclization of N-(3-quinolyl)- and N-(6-quinolyl)-β-alanines was carried out to give uncondensed hexahydropyrimidine derivatives, while the cyclization of N-(5-quinolyl)- and N-(8-quinolyl)-β-alanines gave tetrahydrophenanthrolinone derivatives.
