Abstract
The condensation of (benzo-15-crown-5)-4′-thiocarboxamide with anthranilic acid is studied for the first time. Novel representative of crown ethers incorporating the quinazoline moiety is synthesized. Methylation of (benzo-15-crown-5)-4′-thiocarboxamide proceeds anomalously giving (benzo-15-crown-5)-4′-carbonitrile. (Benzo-15-crown-5)-4′-thiocarboxamide is reacted with thioveratramide in order to compare the reaction paths.
