Summary
The purpose of the study was to measure man's willingness to contribute to the prophylaxis of coronary infarction. Sixty pairs of men, each pair having matched risk characteristics, with one having had an infarction, the other not, were offered an infarction risk reduction program requiring life style changes. The results show that virtually only those who had suffered an infarction could be motivated to follow the program. The intervention was successful with regard to blood pressure, eating habits, and physical exercises.
