Abstract

Tunnelling through a weakly disordered potential barrier is studied analytically. A perturbative approach is developed to calculate all statistical moments of the tunnelling transmission coefficient, and its probability distribution function. It is shown that on average disorder enhances the tunnelling conductance, resistance, and the coherent component of the transmitted field.
