Operative Behandlung des offenen Bisses und der alveolären Protrusion

Zusammenfassung

Von den in den Jahren 1967 bis 1976 in Basel wegen eines offenen Bisses oder einer alveolären Protrusion operierten 65 Patienten wurden 48 nachkontrolliert. Es wurde die Rezidivhäufigkeit, Komplikationsrate sowie Notwendigkeit und Dauer einer intermaxillären Ruhigstellung und kieferorthopädischen Nachbehandlung untersucht. Neben der auf dem Kausalitätsprinzip beruhenden Indikationsstellung zur Verwendung einer bestimmten Operationsmethode müssen die in dieser Nachkontrolle eruierten Ergebnisse bei der Operationsplanung mitberücksichtigt werden.

Summary

From 1967 to 1976, 65 patients with an open bite deformity or an alveolar protrusion were operated in Basle and 48 were followed up. The recurrence and complication rates and the necessity for and duration of intermaxillary fixation and subsequent maxillofacial treatment were noted. Generally the choice of operation is based on the type of malformation and the correction desired, but this choice should also be influenced by the follow-up findings described.

Résumé

On a effectué un contrôle ultérieur de 48 patients parmi les 65 opérés à Bâle pour une béance ou une protrusion alvéolaire de 1967 à 1976. On a noté la fréquence de récidive, le taux de complication ainsi que la nécessité et la durée d'une immobilisation intermaxillaire et d'un traitement orthodontique postopératoire. En plus de l'indication étiologique déterminant la méthode opératoire, il faut tenir compte, lors de la planification d'une opération, des résultats établis dans ce contrôle tardif.
