Abstract
This paper considers the problem of non-Newtonian oil displacement by water in porous media, adopting the linear permeation law with initial pressure gradient. For one-dimensional flow, the basic equation of non-Newtonian oil displacement by water in sandstone reservoirs and fractured reservirs is derived and numerical solutions are obtained. The results are compared with the corresponding ones for Newtonian oil displacement to show the essential characteristics of non-Newtonian oil displacement by water.
