Influence of femoral rotation on the radiological coverage of the femoral head in children

Abstract

Coverage of the femoral head by the acetabulum can be measured as a migration percentage in relation to the acetabular rim. In two series of radiographs from children with congenital dislocation and cerebral palsy it has been found that the difference between the coverage in neutral position and in internal rotation is so small that one a.-p. radiograph suffices for assessment.
