Abstract
Congenital megacalyces is a form of renal dysplasia consisting of non-obstructive enlargement of the calyces accompanied by hypoplasia of the medullary pyramids. Renal function may be completely normal. Characteristic roentgen findings make it possible to recognize this nonprogressive entity and to avoid needless surgery.
