Isolation of the coumarin badrakemin from the roots ofFerula badrakema

  • N. P. Kiryalov

The roots of Ferula badrakema (K. Pol.) have yielded a coumarin badrakemin with the composition C24H30O4, mp 198–199° C, [α]D-64° (chloroform). The results of a chemical study and of UV, IR, and PMR spectroscopy have enabled us to propose structure I for badrakemin.
