The production of cytisine from the seeds of Thermopsis lanceolata

Summary

A method for obtaining cytisine from the seeds ofThermopsis lanceolata by extraction with aqueous solutions of ethanol and with the use of cation-exchangers has been developed. In this process the yield of cytisine is 0.9% of the weight of the seeds.
