Isolation of an indanone fromEquisetum arvense and its crystal and molecular structure

From the herbEquisetum arvense L. an indanone compound has been isolated for the first time for which the structure of 4-hydroxy-6-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2,2,5,7-tetramethylindanone has been established by spectroscopy and x-ray structural analysis.
