Summary

The synthesis has been effected of the following protected hexa- and heptapeptides: the methyl ester of benzyl oxycarbonylglycylleucylglycyl(Nɛ-tosyl)lysylglycylglycine (IX), the methyl ester of benzyloxycarbonylglycyl(Nɛ-tosyl)lysylglycylglycyl(Nɛ-tosyl)lysylglycine (XVIII), and the methyl ester of benzyloxycarbonyl(Nɛ-tosyl)lysylglycylleucylglycyl(Nɛ-tosyl)lysylglycylglycine (XIV), corresponding to the sequences (9–14), (4–9), and (8–14) of the N-terminal section of the histone of fraction F2aI of calf thymus.
