Summary

For spectrochemical analysis of pig and cast iron a two-piece steel mould which allows the production of a disc-shaped sample with rectangular-shaped extensions has proved to be useful. The central disc serves as a receiver for the initially solidifying metal and slag and is discarded. The extensions used for spectrochemical analysis are very homogeneous as a result of the bottom-pouring technique. Cracking of the sample is prevented by preheating the mould.

Zusammenfassung

Bei der spektralanalytischen Untersuchung von Roh- und Gußeisen hat sich eine Klappkokille aus Stahl bewährt, mit der eine scheibenförmige Probe mit quaderförmigen Fortsätzen hergestellt werden kann. Die zentrale Scheibe dient als Fänger für zuerst erstarrtes Metall und Schlacke und wird verworfen. Durch aufsteigendes Gießen sind die für die Spektralanalyse benutzten Quader sehr homogen. Das Zerspringen der Probe wird durch Anwärmen der Kokille vermieden.
