Abstract
The corresponding l-alkyl-6-acetylindolo [3,2-b] indoles are formed in the reaction of N-acetylindoxyl with N-methyl- and N-benzyl-N-phenylhydrazines in acetic acid. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by alternative synthesis and by the UV, PMR, and mass spectra.
