Abstract

A method of synthesizing hitherto unknown 1-aroxysilatranes \(\begin{gathered} {\text{ROSi(OCH}}_{\text{2}} {\text{CH}}_{\text{2}} {\text{)}}_{\text{3}} {\text{N}} \hfill \\ {\text{ }}\underline { \uparrow {\text{ |}}} \hfill \\ \end{gathered} \) (R=aryl) is worked out. It is based on transesterification of lower tetraalkoxysilanes with an equimolecular mixture of triethanolamine and the appropriate phenol (naphthol). Using the method, 12 compounds of the indicated type have been prepared and characterized, the yields in the main exceeding 90%.
