Abstract
The Michael addition of 1-acetyl-3-indolinone to α, β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones is described. The synthesis of a number of δ-carbolines that contain alkyl and aryl substituents in the 2 and 4 positions was realised on the basis of the resulting 1,5-dicarbonyl compounds.
