Abstract

The structure and tautomerism of 2-amino-3, 6-dimethyl-, and 2-amino-3,6,7-trimethylbenzo[1,2-d: 3,4-d']diimidazoles were studied by means of IR and UV spectroscopy. It was found that they exist in the amino form in the crystalline state and in methanol solution.
