Abstract

Diverse substituents in the 2- and 6-positions of pyrylium and selenapyrylium salts do not have a substantial effect on the yields in the pyrylation of dimethylaniline and 1-methylindole. The cyclopropenylation and tripylation of these compounds under conditions similar to those in the pyrylation reaction were studied; this study makes it possible to compare these three reactions.
