Condensation reactions based on 3-formylindazole

The chemical properties of 3-formylindazole were studied in the case of nucleophilic addition reactions (Knoevenagel, Rodionov, and crotonic condensations). The possibility of the preparation of Schiff bases in the unsubstituted 3-formylindazole series was investigated. 3-Indazolylacrylic and β-(3-indazolyl)-β-aminopropionic acids, the products of crotonic condensation, and azomethines were synthesized.
