Ein Schleimhaut-Periostlappen von der oberen Ausdehnung der mittleren Nasenmuschel für die Rekonstruktion des Ausführungsganges der Stirnhöhle

Summary

In frontal sinus surgery — with the exception of the method of osteoplastie procedure — the attainment of a permanent postoperative communication between frontal sinus and nasal cavity is necessary for a successful result. In the various already existing techniques, those of Sewall-Boyden, McNaught and Uffenorde are also included, which are characterized by the use of local mucoperiosteal flaps, placed in the area of the new frontal-nasal communication, in order to prevent its postoperative narrowing or closing. Many authors support that the use of such flaps has several advantages over the other procedures and the probable reason that they are not used to a greater extent is that they are not well known. In this paper we suggest the use of a new mucoperiosteal flap from the upper extension of the middle turbinate. From the experience obtained by 25 cases in different frontal sinus diseases the last 10 years, we believe this flap has several advantages over the others.
