Occurrence and rhythmic behaviour of Tropidoneis lepidoptera in the epipelon of Barnstable Harbor, Massachusetts, USA

Abstract

The identity of a Tropidoneis sp. previously reported from the intertidal sand flats at Barnstable Harbor, Massachusetts (USA) has been resolved as T. lepidoptera (Greg.) Cl., and its vertical migratory behaviour compared with that of the more common Hantzschia virgata var. intermedia (Grun.) Round.
