Abstract
Studies were made of some carotenoids extracted from Axinella verrucosa (O. schmidt) (Porifera: Demospongiae), a species which occurs in the Gulf of Naples. α-carotene, renieratene, isorenieratene, and an unknown isomer of renieratene have been isolated.
