Abstract

The normal impact of an elastic initially static beam of finite length on an elasticfoundation by a finite elastic rod with initial velocity is investigated in this paper. The approximate formulas for the impact force are obtained by the Galerkin principle. Some discussions are made and conclusions are drawn.
